Pokémon rarity symbols (2026): from Common to Mega Hyper Rare
The symbol at the bottom left of every card shows its rarity. Since Scarlet & Violet it has changed shape, and Mega Evolution added new rarities. Here is how to read it, and what each rarity is worth on average.
Where to find the rarity
At the bottom of the card, next to the number (for example 187/132) and the set code. A number above the total (187 of 132) means a secret card: the rarest ones.

Illustration Rare or Special Illustration Rare?
Both are full-art cards. The Illustration Rare (one gold star) usually shows a regular Pokémon in a scene. The Special Illustration Rare (two gold stars) features a Pokémon ex or a Trainer, with more elaborate art. A recent main set has few of them: Perfect Order has 11 Illustration Rares and 6 Special Illustration Rares.
