PSA to CGC crossover: is the regrade worth it?
A well-centered PSA 9 can be worth more as a CGC 10. But CGC only re-slabs a card if its grade is the same or higher, and the fee is still due if it doesn't cross. This calculator weighs all three outcomes.

How a CGC crossover works
You send your card in its PSA case. CGC evaluates it and only removes it from its holder if it will receive the same or a higher grade. Otherwise it comes back in its original holder and the grading fee still applies. The « Cross at any grade » option accepts a lower grade. Fees follow the tier you pick: $17 for Bulk (25-card minimum), $20 for Economy, $55 for Standard.
When a crossover pays off
When the gap between a CGC 10 and your PSA is wide, your card is near perfect (centering, corners, surface) and you use a low-cost tier. Don't forget turnaround: several months in Bulk, during which you can't sell the card.

What is a crossover?
Moving an already graded card from one grading company to another, for example from PSA to CGC, without cracking the case yourself.
What happens if the card doesn't cross?
At CGC, it comes back in its original holder with its original grade, and the grading fee is still charged. That's the calculator's third outcome.
CGC 10: Pristine or Gem Mint?
CGC has two 10s: Pristine 10 and Gem Mint 10. Their sale prices often differ: enter the one that matches what you're aiming for.
Can I go the other way, from CGC to PSA?
Yes, by cracking the card out and submitting it raw, with the risk of a lower grade. In Kardz, the Filons tab also runs that strategy.
